Immigration and Customs Enforcement Assistant Secretary John Morton announced today that the agency will inspect the I-9 records of approximately 1000 companies around the US, dwarfing the announcement in July that nearly 600 firms were being investigated. Only 500 firms were audited in 2008. This time the employers being targeted are firms involved with "critical infrastructure" projects. My labor/I-140 documents show my salary to be 85K, I am yet to receive my I-140 approval from Nebraska Processing Center, filed in June 2006 under EB-2. Would it cause any problems when I file my I-485 ( priority date March 2004 ) next year if the salary for 2006 is less than 85K ? I was unemployed for two months this year unexpectedly. Thank you for your responses.

I find that just importing my Swift3D output into Flash and then exporting it again I can reduce file size from 50 kb to 5kb. and usually this is good enough.

Anybody filed Un Signed Labor Substitution?
Since the cut off date was Jul 17th my attorney filed un signed Labor substitution with I-140.
Any experince any body has, I request you to share that here.

I was scheduled for Infopass today and found out the alien number assigned to my I-485 application is not the one mentioned in I-140 and belongs to somebody else in florida. I called NSC and they processed the service request and told me to wait for 45 days. I talked to NSC directly and without checking my application details, the officer tried to assure me that it is something that they will be able to fix when they will adjudicate my case. My EAD and fingerprinting were cleared under the wrong alien number and my lawyer told me that the alien number is assigned by USCIS. I will check my documents to find out if they did that mistake.
Anyone else got in similar situation or know about someone with the same issue?

Hi All,
I was with company A until March 23rd 2008 and changed to company B (they filed my H1B transfer as well as extension on 03/24/2008 with vermont center). USCIS didnt process my case until mid of september 2008 and my employer B raised a service request. After 15 days of service request i got a query on my H1B i.e on 09/30/2008. Query was replied on 10/30/2008 but haven't received any response until now and aslo the status hasn't been changed in the website.
On the other side my I-94 expired on August 18th 2008. Its been exactly 120 days until now that my i-94 got expired and came to know from others that i can stay in US for 240 days maximum after my I-94 expiration.
Could you please help me out what are the options i have here with respect to the H1B and also regarding the I-94. Your help is highly appreciated. Plzzzzzzzzzzz help me out.

There has been a lot of confusion today about the so called "Frist new bill" -- it is just the Hagel-Martinez bill which was brought for a cloture vote before the Senate Easter recess. I have edited to title of the thread with the text of the bill to reflect this.

Has anyone contacted senators in NJ and got any response? I contacted them through regular mail filling out the forms from their website and enquiring on my pending 485 but haven't recived any response from either of them yet. I sent my papers on Sep 2nd and haven't heard anything back.

Hi,
I am in a situation where I changed my Job and new organization has filed the Visa Transfer process on 28 May 2010.
My and my dependents current H1-B / H4 and I-94 from the prior organization is expiring on March 14 2011 and the H1-B Transfer process has not been completed and rather it is now in the RFE Status as of Today i.e March - 7 2011.
Am I still eligible to stay in US or not. What should be my next course of action.
Please suggest at the earliest.
Thanks in advance for your help and support.

The consulate cannot approve you for permanent residence if there are no visa numbers available. Priority dates apply whether you do AOS or CP.

I was under the impression that they send only one notice for each case and that too to the attorney.My attorney has send me a mail that he received the receipt notices and the original would have been sent to the employer.In case the employer has not received,he will send me a copy.
