Yes, I was also thinking how did IV radar screen missed such an important vote. I hope it's not because we were so busy celebrating I-485.
I hate to think a call to few senators would have fixed the whole problem to everybody. Please lets refocus guys on a permanent fix.

This is good information to know. If this is the case, then at least once in a year they have to make all the categories current. May be for September every year so that they do not waste any VISA numbers.
Per country quota is not applicable based on AC21 rule when it is current for every one. This is what happened due to the July visa bulletin fiasco. As they are honouring that bulletin, they are also forced to approve across all country

How would I-140 approvals impact the availability of visa numbers and isnt spill over already happening,ie, removal of country caps, as we have seen last year,last quarter as well in July VB?
More I140 approvals (of those who have already filed their 485) means more 485 eligible to be adjudicated. Longer the queue and more efficient the USCIS is - slower the PD movement.

EAD most likely doesn't get cancelled immediately. Find a post by 'lazycis' on this thread. Even if it gets, which is rare, one can still continue working on EAD. I know this sounds not right, but again search this thread. This is confirmed by few replies and ref links are provided to RG's website.

again... look for links to RG's website for this. As per RG, this is considered as something 'beyong applicant's control' i.e. an applicant has nothing illegal, but CIS committed an error, so an applicant can not be punished for CIS error. My personal opinion is, it is always much safer if you have a good experienced immigration attorney on your side.
3. How much it costs to go thru' MTR process? How long it takes?
Most likely 60 - 90 days. Costs can vary, but it is not really really high.

so If I don't work parttime but I want to start a LLC to hire some people and want to maintain my H1.........Is it possible ??????????
Anyone can open a company even while you are on a H1 (you don't need EAD for it). But, you can't work for it. Technically, signing a check or opening a bank account is considered to be "work".

I am thinking about fax them a letter like this.......
PBEC center has not performed well enough until now...This year some form of immigration reform would be passed..When that passes, there would be a lot of work in terms of immigration processing/legalization..If the PBEC/Exceed does not shape up and complete by September...We would urge the congress not to give Exceed corporation any further federal contracts..
Only thing is my application is stuck in there and I donot want to put my name there because every dog/bitch has nuisance value...

If I may suggest it may help our funding drive if we allow smaller contributions. (20$ or 10$) both recurring and one time.
I know at least a couple of people who would do a 20$ 2-3 times a year but won't do a $50. Anecdotal but may hold true for a lot more people.

It means USCIS has pre-adjudicated your I-485 if it was filed before october 2008.

There was a change in LUD for both me and my wife on 3/4/09. Then on my wife's, there were LUD ON 3/5 & now 3/6/09 also. When I open the Case Number, it shows the usual information "Current Status: Case received and pending". Any idea what this could mean. Thanks.

Earlier I got a PM from immigration (name on the handle, not USCIS). He has contributed $100 for this round. That takes us to the final 6 shots. Remember these shots can be taken by anyone who believes that IV is doing a great job in order to make necessary changes. The USCIS automated line for Priority dates is still playing the PD's for June 2007 showing that EB-3 India cut off June 1st 2003 etc..
We have so contrasting images of the efficiency of USCIS. Hope they keep the same tempo as of the last week of June on Oct 1st when the FY 2008 quota kicks in.

There are those who are undecided or who cannot find enough energy/motivation to do something, and those people need motivation. You don't fall in that category. You are pretty much convinced that you don't belong here. Now you are just spoiling the environment to make sure that others all leave looking at you and mad-dog bickering. In that case does USCIS send a confirmation of revocation of all the requested LIN numbers to be revoked? Or it is just a one-sided handshake?
Yes, I think it is just a letter.
Just like say, you do not want your Green card - you send a covering letter to USCIS and enclose the green cards. They shred the cards and process the letter update their records.
You can also send a letter to USCIS to withdraw your 485 - they will be happy to do so.
My dad had a expired green card (in the 70s) and recently when he went to consulate to get a toursit visa - he presented his expired green card (30+ years old) and they took him aside and completed some paperwork and took the expired green card and said they gonna process the return of expired green card - this is normal paperwork and procedure they follow.
What baffles me is - they follow all the laws perfectly - but when it comes to beneficiaries, we see all sorts of issues? I really do not think it is a training issue - this could be something else - maybe I am just speculating

Volunteer is a person who takes responsibility and does a task. Here the question was raised to have new leaders who can take a flight to Washington DC on Monday morning, change the law by noon to issue GC to every EB category, have a lunch at Olive Garden, come back monday evening.
Most leaders are actually volunteers in IV. They have a regular full time job.

For this you need to hire full time lobbyist which costs a lot
of money. IV budget is nowhere close to that the Hispanic lobby group:

IV is a tiny organization in front of La Raza. Thats....a BILLION with which they hire full time lobbyist.
I strongly suggest you listen to the audio interview to understand how big the hispanic
